TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL (TIF) is the world’s largest idol festival and is held every summer in Odaiba, Tokyo. It has become a summer tradition for idol fans around the globe.
In 2010, idols had made a huge comeback and the phrase “Idol Sengoku Jidai”, or “Idol Warring Period”, was coined.
This huge boom marked the begining of Japan’s first ever large-scale idol festival, “TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL 2010, which was held in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
From then, the festival was moved to Odaiba and this year will be hosting it’s 9th event. As the event grows ever closer to it’s 10th anniversary, TIF will continue to push the idol scene with exciting new projects and challenges.

Producer greetings
TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL will be held once again this year thanks to the help of the idols, fans, and stakeholders involved.
Over 80,000 fans attended TIF8 in 2017, exceeding the numbers for all past events.
We’re sure that we can do even more to pump up the idol scene!
In our 9th year, TIF ventured to Thailand for its first overseas event. Not only that, but the “TIF Door” project has been announced in order to shine the spotlight on the next generation of idols. There is also the Main Stage Contest which will allow groups to win their spot on the main stage.
Past winners include Maneki Kecak and 26ji No Masquerade, so there are high expectations for the winners. There are lots more upcoming projects, so keep an eye out!
The first wave of performers has already been announced for this years event, with a variety of passionate groups and intense performances from all over Japan, ready to energise the TIF crowd!
Sashihara Rino will also be returning as the chairman of TIF2018.
5 groups have already been announced to perform on the main stage following their success in the Main Stage Contest. We’ve scoured the country for the hottest new groups who could even become the next big thing. Why not join in and feel the heat of the idol scene?
TIF is an annual festival held over 3 days in Odaiba, focused on both the idols and their fans. Experience a true idol extravaganza this summer at TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL!
